There were 44 sales of detached housing. Despite the C-19 situation, that’s up from 31 sales in February, and also up from 38 sales in March of 2019. This is the 5th month in the past 6 where the sales total is up from last year. The Benchmark Price – that is, the price of an average home in an average area – increased 2.2% to $569,200, making it one of the largest single month increases in recent months. Condo and apartment sales were up, too, showing 14 sales vs10 sales last month. Overall, attached sales continue to be consistent. The March 2020 total of 14 is similar to the March 2019 total of13, and the 31 sales YTD are close to the 33 sales last year. With land, there were just 2 sales last month, down from the 8 sales in February and 5 sales in March, 2019. The YTD sales are also down; 14 this year vs 20 sales last year. However, prices for both attached and land remain stable. Do you have a house to sell? It appears real estate is still selling despite the challenges of C-19. Prices are up from last month and the short supply could work in your favour.
